Chinati mountains

A long way from anywhere, featuring intense elevation changes, the Chinati Mountains rise up out of a striking desert canyonland just south of the panoramic Marfa grasslands.  Still further south are the odd contrast of rugged Mexican mountain ranges and Rio Grande marshlands.  The convergence of so many habitats culminates in an explosion of birds, especially during migration.    The following images are a catalog in process, with a long way to go.
